The club was started as a co-ed team team in 2012 by high school classmates Scott Kindzieski and Dan Karosen and in five short years has become of the top amateur teams in the nation.

Currently the club is a mix of former elite college players who are beginning their work careers and aspiring pros who will travel the world to achieve their dreams.

During 2017 the club qualified for the 2nd Round of the Lamar Hunt Cup with wins over Lansdowne Bhoys and NJ Copa before falling to the USL Rochester Rhinos. FC Motown plays in the Garden State Soccer League and has held the #1 spot in the Super Division the past five year years. FC Motown has had multiple players sign professional contacts off its squad during its brief history. It has had high profile friendlies during the past year against NYCFC, Red Bulls II, Ecuadorian U20 National Team and Sport Boys (Peru).

FC Motown will merge with Clarkstown SC for the 2018 NPSL season. Clarkstown SC made the NPSL national semifinals in 2016 and the national quarterfinals in 2017 and 2015.

FC Motown strives to balance a community centric approch with being of the best clubs in the nation. It recently signed its first major sponsor in Cola Vita olive oil and hope to sign others before the 2018 NPSL season.
